China has risen to become a superpower in recent years.

In fact ,according to a posting on the U.S.-China Economic & Security Review Commission, the policies outlined in the 13th Five-Year Plan seeks to create new Chinese competitors that will be able to challenge U.S. companies abroad, while slowly closing market opportunities in China for U.S. & other foreign firms in important high-tech sectors such as bio-pharmaceuticals, robotics & aviation.
The 13th FYP established the vision for China's development over the next 5 years, which seeks to create a "moderately prosperous society in all aspects" through the following key themes:
  • Innovation: A cornerstone of China's development strategy & an important component for moving Chinese manufacturing up the value-added manufacturing chain, thereby enhancing its future global competitiveness & technological edge.
  • Coordinated development: Aims to improve regional inter-government coordination of policies, resources & urban planning through urbanization, hukou reform, & the creation of the Beijin-Tianjin-Hebei mega-region & the Yangtze Economic Belt.
  • Green growth: To address China's severe environmental degradation & to build clean energy, green manufacturing, & environmental service sectors.
  • Openness: To expand its inter-regional & international trade through the creation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei mega-region, the Yangtze Economic Belt, & the Belt Road Initiative.
  • Inclusive growth: To pursue inclusive growth for all Chinese citizens by setting targets to alleviate poverty, raise standard of livings, improve accessibility & affordability of healthcare & other social services, & to promote education.
If you have not benefited from China's growth over the past couple of years, is it too late to be part of it now? Where will be the investment opportunities & options moving forward?
